Prior to the event, the Affiliate Summit team met with Alex to discover more about what he does. See why his session will be relevant to you below. Affiliate Summit: Why is your session important for delegates to attend, and what are the benefits of them attending? Alex Hunter: There are a lot of people in the audience who will be experts on how to attract new customers and users to a site. But for me that is just where the conversation starts, because I’m obsessed with understanding how we KEEP those customers – get them coming back organically and frequently. That’s the challenge we all face, lowering that cost of acquisition, raising the customer life time value for every single one of our users. AS: How is your topic relevant to our industry? AH: The industry is built on user acquisition, we’re very good at it. But when a few pennies in each direction per click can be the difference between profit and loss, we have to work harder than ever before to make the most of every first impression we get and that’s what I’m truly passionate about; how can we differentiate ourselves? How can we elevate our customer experience above the competition? And how can we do this without sabotaging our own bottom line? AS: What is the one thing you hope delegates get out of your session? AH: That there is as much to offline as is there is to online. We tend to think of online and offline as silos when that is no longer the case. The customer has forced a change in how we engage with them, and it’s caught a lot of companies and industries by surprise. In my session we’ll explore how to get the balance right. AS: Why choose this event as your platform to voice your findings? AH: A collection of smart, tech-savvy, data-driven marketers? What’s NOT to like? AS: How do you plan on maximizing your time at the event? AH: I’m keen to chat with as many attendees as possible to understand the challenges that they’re facing in areas like customer experience, loyalty, and brand. Alex Hunter will be presenting the keynote address at Affiliate Summit Europe on 6 February at 2pm followed by an exclusive Q&A session at 4pm.
